Enhancing Your Training Experience

Getting the most from a new instrument requires knowledge and experience. In the past this would involve traveling to a local office for a weeklong training course or scheduling a multi-day visit from an application specialist. There are many benefits to these in-person experiences, including networking and immersion, but they also require a large time commitment and advance scheduling. In addition, as instruments have become increasingly diverse in their possible applications, it is difficult to learn everything in a short period of time. To address the need for training in a more efficient manner, Bruker has made significant investments in our infrastructure to support digital training.

With digital training, you can avoid travel restrictions while reducing your carbon footprint. Training is flexible not only in schedule, but also in content. Bruker offers a range of opportunities, including on-demand training videos, small group classes and custom application-specific sessions.

  • Small group classes are digital versions of our in-person courses. In lecture and hands-on sessions, instructors guide participants through essential topics. If you have little or no experience with a technique, these courses are a great place to start. These classes also offer an opportunity to network with other users. The schedule for our small group classes can be found on our website.

  • Custom sessions are typically scheduled in two-hour blocks, allowing completion without interruption to your day-to-day activities. These sessions allow the classic "complete instrument training" to be divided by topic so that training needs can be addressed as appropriate samples come through your lab. Custom sessions also allow for a group of participants who are geographically separated to attend together. Custom sessions can be scheduled by reaching out to your local Bruker representative.

At Bruker, our success is measured in the breakthroughs and discoveries of our customers. With these new training options, we hope to assist you in getting the most from your analytical investment. To learn more about our digital training options, please contact your local sales representative or visit our website.

New Approach to Analysis of Feed and Forage by XRF

In today's animal feed production industry, analytical solutions play a key role to develop optimal feed recipes and to assure the quality of raw materials, intermediate mixes, and final products. In this customer video, Ralph Ward, Owner and President of Cumberland Valley Analytical Services (CVAS) in the US, explains how X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) spectrometry is applied in the feed and forage industry. XRF is a nondestructive technique that enables the quantification of macro- and micro-mineral nutrients in all kinds of solid, powder and liquid materials, including forages, silages, grains, total mixed ratios, edible oils and more.

Elemental Analysis Meets Additive Manufacturing – A Success Story

Additive Manufacturing (AM), also called 3D printing, is a manufacturing process with unique strengths. However, certain hurdles must be overcome, old manufacturing methods challenged, and process steps understood to build a top-quality additive manufacturing process. This powder metallurgy case study describes specific pitfalls, and provides insight into how Rosswag GmbH, a forging company, built a holistic, and certified, metal AM process chain using state-of-the-art Bruker Elemental Analysis.

Live from the Lab: What is Single Crystal X-Ray Diffraction?

Detailed insight into the relationship between structure, function, and reactivity is crucial for the success of modern science. Single Crystal X-Ray Diffraction (SC-XRD, SXRD, SCD) is one of the most powerful methods for generating this vital information and has thus become an essential tool for new discovery. This year's first episode of our YouTube streaming series, Live from the Lab, aired on Thursday, January 13th, and covered how quickly and easily today's SC-XRD experiments can be accomplished. While watching this episode, be sure to subscribe to our channel so you never miss a show.
