As we reach the 100th article of our newsletter, we want to take a moment to celebrate this incredible milestone with you. Since our very first issue back in 2009, we've been dedicated to bringing you the latest updates, insights, and stories that matter most.
When the FIRST Newsletter began 16 years ago, the average user had 5 MB of Internet bandwidth, and most of us received more letters than emails. Today, this has changed dramatically. News moves faster than an editor can publish, meaning that the way we all communicate must evolve. Over the years, we've adapted to these changes, ensuring that we continue to provide valuable content in a timely manner.
Starting in 2025, the FIRST Newsletter will be replaced with two new ways to keep you updated. Analytical Vision will come to your inbox filled with digital content to keep you informed, while our LinkedIn newsletter, Analytical Insights, will be packed with helpful tips to get the most out of your Bruker solution. To ensure that you receive both, please watch for the newsletter later in January and follow Bruker AXS on LinkedIn.
As we reflect on our journey, we also want to wish you a Happy New Year! May the new year bring you prosperity and joy.

Mastering XRF Sample Prep: Key Takeaways from Our Webinar
We recently hosted the webinar "XRF Unveiled: Mastering the Art of Sample Preparation," and it was a huge success with a record number of registrations, nearly 2.000! This shows just how crucial sample preparation is for XRF users.
Although XRF spectrometry requires minimal sample preparation, getting it right is key to achieving the best results, especially in high-throughput settings. During the webinar, our experts tackled burning questions like, "Which foil should you use for different liquids?" and "When should you grind, press, or fuse a sample?" among many others.
The good news is: if you missed the webinar, you can now request the seminar recording and presentation slides to catch up on all the valuable tips and tricks!

AsCA 2024 Highlights
Earlier this month, the 18th Conference of the Asian Crystallographic Association (AsCA 2024) took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This vibrant event provided a fantastic opportunity to connect with the crystallography community and showcase our latest innovations.
Our newly released PHOTON IV detector and APEX6 software, featuring AI-based sample centering, generated significant interest. Additionally, the latest autoloader version of the D6 PHASER attracted attention from the XRD community.
Pre-conference workshops on protein and chemical crystallography were well attended, offering valuable hands-on experience with our tools and techniques. The conference also featured several presentations by our experts, covering topics such as co-crystallization with second-generation chaperones, breaking intensity barriers in single crystal X-ray diffraction, and tips for successful SC-XRD structure determination on challenging MOF/COF samples.
We look forward to seeing you at future events as we continue to push the boundaries of crystallography together. In the meantime, check out photos from AsCA 2024 on our LinkedIn page.
