About the course

This software and hands-on course applies to users of the SPECTRA.ELEMENTS software for S2 PUMA EDXRF spectrometer. Participants will learn the fundamentals of energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry, S2 PUMA hardware, and qualitative / quantitative elemental analysis using the SPECTRA.ELEMENTS software.

Attendance Fee

The course fee is $3,500 USD per person. 

Class Size

Because our courses are interactive and learner-oriented, we limit class size to a minimum of three and a maximum of six. Early enrollment is encouraged as registrations are accepted on a first-come/first-serve basis.

**Each participant will be provided with class materials and lunch daily. We have computers on-site, but it is encouraged to bring a laptop. It is highly recommended to fly into Madison (MSN) on Sunday afternoon/evening and fly out Friday afternoon to be able to attend the full course.

Tuesday, 9am - 5pm

  • SMART QUANT Software (Standardless Training)
  • Loader, Results Manager, XRF Evaluation, Commander, Configuration, DB Management, and Log Plug-in
  • Drift Corrections

Wednesday, 9am - 5pm

  • Quantitative Analysis with the Wizard Plug-in (Calibration)

Thursday, 9am - 5pm

  • Routine Maintenance, Instrument Repairs, Tools Plug-in

Friday, 9am -12pm

  • Course Wrap-up, Evaluations & Closing Remarks
