BRAGG2D: Illuminating the XRD Sample Preparation Challenge

Join us for a complimentary webinar

A common issue encountered during powder X-ray diffraction experiments is ensuring the specimen consists of randomly oriented crystallites with appropriate dimensions. Two-dimensional X-ray diffraction (XRD2) is a convenient way to visualize deviations from this ideal powder condition. Unfortunately, traditional XRD2 requires the beam be reduced to a small spot, limiting the area being measured and the overall signal strength. BRAGG2D is a patent-pending technique that uses parafocusing beam geometry with a new two-dimensional data processing algorithm to illuminate a large specimen area with the full X-ray beam. This allows rapid assessment of sample preparation.

In this brief webinar, BRAGG2D is presented with examples from the D2 PHASER, showcasing its ability to identify sample preparation issues and enhance the processes of phase identification and quantification.
