About the course

This course applies to users of the S2 PUMA with SPECTRA.ELEMENTS software. Participants will receive 4.5 days of training on the fundamentals of  X‑ray Spectrometry, sample preparation techniques, service and SPECTRA.ELEMENTS software for the Energy Dispersive X-ray S2 PUMA system. This course is a hands-on training and is intended to provide practical experience in handling the X-ray spectrometer.

    • Drift correction of the standardless program

    • Introduction to quantitative analysis

Thursday

  • Maintenance

  • Backup of database
  • Removal of old calibrations on Loader and Wizard
    • Review: Q & A

Course Fee

Course fee is $4,000 USD per person. Payment for the class per participant is due one month in advance. 

Class size

Because our trainings are interactive, we limit class size to a minimum of three and a maximum of six. Early enrollment is encouraged as registrations are accepted on a first-come/first-serve basis. We reserve the right to cancel a course if there are less than three registrants four weeks prior to the start date.

 **Each participant will be provided with class materials, computer, and lunch daily. While we have computers on-site, it is recommended that each participant bring a laptop. It is highly recommended to fly into  Madison (MSN) on Sunday afternoon or evening and fly out late Friday late afternoon or evening to be able to attend the full course.
