We recently conducted a 4-day application training at CIMAP Lucknow, focusing on small and macromolecular applications using our D8 QUEST. CIMAP uses the D8 QUEST, with a Cu source and PHOTON III M14 detector, for their medicinal plant and biomolecule research. The diffractometer is supervised by Dr. Prema G Vasudev, a senior scientist at CIMAP. We trained 15 participants, all with basic crystallography knowledge, who found the training beneficial. We swiftly measured 2-3 natural product data during the training, thanks to the bright Imus 3.0 Source and large Photon II M14 detector, with the lysozyme data resolution extending up to 1.2 Angstroms being a highlight! #BrukerAXS #SCXRD #D8QUEST #Crystallography #Training

We recently conducted a second round of advanced training on the D8 VENTURE at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad. The D8 VENTURE was installed there during 2020/2021, and it’s been serving the institute for almost 4 years now, becoming one of the most heavily used machines there! It’s heartening to share that Prof. Prabu Sankar is extremely satisfied with the diffractometer’s performance, speed, and the quality of data obtained. The latest training was attended by a total of 28 participants who were impressed by the new features of APEX5, especially the handling of twins by auto detwinning using the Domain function. The day was filled with excitement as we organized a chaperone crystallization competition, turning the lab into a battleground of skills and expertise. It was an experience that left everyone enriched and inspired. Living up to their motto, “Making molecules that matter”, Prof. Richert’s team seized the opportunity to delve into our state-of-the-art single crystal X-ray diffraction instruments and were impressed by the high-quality data they could obtain from their samples in such a short time. At Bruker, we take great pride in supporting groundbreaking research and fostering collaboration.
