Micro X-ray Fluorescence (µ-XRF) is an analytical technique that is often used in forensics due to its benefits of small sample requirements, non-destructive capabilities, speed of analysis, and data quality for elements ranging from Sodium to Uranium.
In this webinar, we will discuss Bruker’s M4 TORNADO high-performance Micro-XRF spectrometer. This webinar will begin with an explanation of the M4 TORNADO and the physical principles including polycapillary optics, position tagged spectroscopy, spatial resolution and quantification.
In the second half of the webinar, we will discuss a variety of applications within forensics where the M4 Tornado is commonly used. This includes Gun Shot Residue, paint chips, glass fragments and origin identification, counterfeit banknotes, and the identification of small particles.
